CONCHOLA

Conchita & Lola aka CONCHOLA are two professional mourners who have dedicated their lives to grieving for humanity. But as the weight of their calling begins to grow heavier, they are confronted by a haunting question: who, in turn, will mourn them?

‘extremely funny and a thought-provoking meditation on life and death’

‘a theatrical fever dream where symbolism, satire, and absurdism collide'’

Everything Theatre

Fusing clowning, dance and physical theatre CONCHOLA is a new genre-defying collaboration between dance artist & choreographer Patricia Langa & Paulina Lenoir.

CONCHOLA was born out of the world of Cabrolé, a cabaret night & fiesta stemming from a series of workshops based on Patricia’s research on the queer history of flamenco and Lorca’s poetry.

Originally developed and presented at Stanley Arts Centre in Croydon in 2024, it was later performed at Southbank Centre as part of KUNSTY in 2025. Patricia & Paulina co-wrote and hosted the show as Conchita & Lola aka CONCHOLA and were later commissioned by Roses of Elagabalus to develop a spin off show featuring these two characters.

The show is currently in development as part of a residency at Shoreditch Town Hall with support from the Swiss Cultural Fund.
